You Can Get a Job

I am a Middle School Phys Ed teacher. Here is what I have to say to new people looking to get a teaching job.

I landed my first teaching job in an inner city middle school. There was a recent opening, and it seemed like administration was having a hard time finding anyone to take the job. I found out about the job from the newspaper.

I landed my first teaching job because I possess these qualities. I was mature. I entered the teaching profession later in life, after trying my luck in the business field for 10 years. I was 32 years old and had no ties anywhere, so I could go where the job was.

Finding a teaching job can be hard, but here is some advice to make it easier. TAKE ANY JOB!!! Working in an inner city school was hard, but I got great experience and became desirable to other districts, especially Middle Schools. That is because discipline at that age is so important, and administration needs to know that you can handle the job. As a result, after working that first year in the inner city school, I had the knowledge, confidence, and credentials to land a teaching job in another district the following year.
